There’s bitter cold weather coming! DO NOT DRAIN YOUR HOT TUB. You cannot get rid of all the water and pipes will freeze. Be sure your hot tub is full (maybe even fill it higher than usual) and heated to the highest temperature your tub will allow. Continue to circulate the water. Circulating water will not freeze. If you lose power, there is so much water in the hot tub, it will usually stay warm enough for pipes not to freeze.
Protect your cover from ice or icicle damage by adding a layer of protection (a tarp, a thick cover) to protect it from falling ice. Melting icicles can puncture your cover. Clear the cover as soon as possible to protect it from the weight of the ice or snow breaking the cover.
